Tableau vivant is French for “living picture.” The term describes a striking group of suitably costumed actors or artist’s models, carefully posed and often theatrically lit. Quite an accurate definition (though the costuming is more nude-centric) for the Tableau Vivant of the Delirium Constructions, out of Brooklyn, where upwards of one hundred models assembled and were then photographed, depicting unlikely characters in improbable scenarios. New York based photographer Sarah Small and other collaborators bring to life this Renaissance performance, one worth a visit to add a spark of erotic flavor to your life.
